Scripture: Father, I desire that they also—those whom you have given me—may be with me where I am, to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world. (John 17:24)

Jesus wants for us to experience the glory that he will have when he ascends to the Father, the same glory that they whole world will see when he comes again. But more than that, he actually wants us to be with him. If he didn’t love us, he wouldn’t want us to be with him. He actually enjoys our company and wants to give us good things. I think that’s hard for a lot of us to imagine because we’re pretty down on ourselves. We know that God loves us; but, we often don’t believe that he likes us.

Prayer: Jesus, please help me to know your love, that you genuinely enjoy being with me rather than merely pitying me for my sorry condition. Grant me that joy. Amen.
