Morning Prayer

Scripture: Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.” (John 20:21)

In a sense, every believer is an apostle because the word “apostle” means “sent-one.” An apostle is a messenger who delivers a message in behalf of someone else. Every believer, then, carries with them the message of salvation on behalf of the king. And by God’s grace, the message is for anyone who will listen.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for making your message of salvation available to all people. I pray that you would help me to deliver that message. Help me see by your Spirit which people might be willing to hear the good news and give me words to speak that will be well received. Help me also to be an agent of peace in the world, not only because you love peace, but because peace gives the message of Jesus credibility. Amen.
