Scripture: Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you may be justified in your words and blameless in your judgment. (Psalm 51:4)

God is the first and final judge of our actions, and sins against our neighbors not only break his commandments, but dishonor his image in the one against whom we sin. Thus, we have to deal first with God, and also last with him.

Prayer: Father, we know that your judgements are righteous. You are a just judge. We acknowledge that our sins are against you first, and that all our thoughts, words, and actions will be weighed in your courts. That’s why we repent now, but also why we cling to the blood of Jesus. He is our righteousness. And for his provision we give you praise! Teach us to walk in his light, the light of life.
