Advent Devo - Day 1

These devotionals are designed to help you pray for the children of the church. But feel free to expand on the prayers below and to read more deeply of God's word.

Verse: And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.” (Genesis 1:28)

Meditation: God could have simply created every person on earth directly, the way he did Adam and Eve. But he didn’t because he loves children. He considers them a blessing. And that includes the full process of development, from a grain of sand in the womb to a fully-grown person. Every stage in the process brings him delight—from first words to moving out. Take a moment to savor the stage of development the children nearest to you.

Prayer: Father, thank you for granting us to enjoy watching children grow and learn. Teach us to delight in every moment, neither rushing it along nor taking it for granted. Let our hearts be filled with gratitude for your goodness to us. Amen.
