Scripture: All mine are yours, and yours are mine, and I am glorified in them. (John 17:10)

What a thing to think that Jesus would entrust his glory to the likes of us. But so he has. Not only that, but he has entrusted the mission of God to us, as well. And of course the two are inexorably bound up together. For the mission of God in the world is the magnification of his glorious light in this present darkness. And we are light not because we are special or worthy, but precisely because we belong to God the Father and to the Lord Jesus Christ. We are a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works (Titus 2:14).

Prayer: Lord Jesus, we are grateful that we are your inheritance and that through our unity with you in the Holy Spirit we belong to the Father as well. Grant that we would honor your name and your work in our own lives. Make us conscious of our role as ambassadors for the kingdom, and teach us to be zealous for good works.
