Morning Prayer

Scripture: And there arose on that day a great persecution against the church in Jerusalem, and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria… Now those who were scattered went about preaching the word. (Acts 8:1, 3)

God often uses adverse circumstances to further his will in the world. The disciples scattered because of persecution, but then began spreading the good news of Jesus wherever they went. We often pray that God would take away bad or difficult circumstances. But we should (also) pray that he would use the difficulties to bring about blessings.

Prayer: Lord, I pray that you might fortify me to endure the hardships of this day, this season. And please redeem these circumstances so that your name would be glorified and so that I could be a blessing to those around me. Amen.
