Advent Devo - Day 12

Verse: I will tell of the decree: The Lord said to me, “You are my Son; today I have begotten you.” (Psalm 2:7)

Meditation: This verse speaks of Jesus long before he was born. It speaks of the unique relationship that he has with God the Father. The Creed puts it this way: He was “eternally begotten, not made.” And yet, amazingly, through our spiritual union with Jesus, we have a share in that special relationship. We, too, get to be called children of the living God.

Prayer: Father, thank you for the privilege of being called sons and daughters of God. We pray that these, our children, would come to be filled to the full with a clear sense of what that means in their lives, and that it would be their joy and their delight. Amen.
