Advent Devo - Day 14

Verse: Train up a child in the way that he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6)

Meditation: Training is hard for us because it means delayed satisfaction. It’s a lot of work up front, but you don’t see the reward for some time. It’s tempting, then, to not even try. But because of the way God has made us, we can trust that the efforts we pour into our children are worth it.

Prayer: Father, we know that we don’t always put in the time, energy, or prayer that our children require. Forgive us these sins, and grant that our children would grow up into the way of Jesus, that we might sing your praises and acknowledge your kindness. Amen.
