Evening Prayer

Scripture: He will raise a signal for nations far away, and whistle for them from the ends of the earth; and behold, quickly, speedily they come! (Isaiah 5:26)

There is no place on earth, no peoples of the earth too far away. And the call of God is irresistible to them. He will call and they will come, just as we once did. This reveals God’s heart for his people. Never are they too far out of reach for him to call their name, to beckon them to come and worship him and receive the blessings of salvation.

Prayer: Lord, call! Call your people from the ends of the earth! Make the nations glad to become a part of your inheritance, the inheritance of the Lord Jesus Christ. Grant them to see the truth of the gospel of God’s grace, even today! As I go to bed, so others are waking up. I pray that you would appoint messengers of your gospel to these who are rising with the sun even as the sun is setting on me here. Amen.
