Evening Prayer

Scripture: And he shall speak peace to the nations; his rule shall be from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth. (Zechariah 9:10)

The Lord’s rule is a rule of peace. War will end, strife will end. His rule will bring true peace, what the Bible calls shalom. Even as we rest, God is working to bring about that peace in every place on earth by establishing his rule.

Prayer: Father, let acknowledgment of your reign spread throughout the earth, even as I sleep. Grant that your peace would be spoken to those who do not know it—those who war, those who fight, those who oppress and are oppressed alike. Speak your peace to them that they might repent and spread your peace to their neighbors and enemies alike. Amen.
