Evening Prayer

Scripture: At that time Jerusalem shall be called the throne of the Lord, and all nations shall gather to it, to the presence of the Lord in Jerusalem, and they shall no more stubbornly follow their own evil heart. (Jeremiah 3:17)

God will sit on his throne in the great city, and the peoples of God from across the world will come and bow down before him in worship, honor, and service. It is not we who will bring this about, but God himself will do it. He will also transform every human heart that he calls to himself, transforming our evil hearts into righteous hearts. And in that moment, our joy will be complete and everlasting.

Prayer: Lord, thank you that you are in charge of your mission. Thank you that the work of transforming hearts will be done by you. I know that my efforts could never do something so great. And so I pray that you will bless the work of my hands that I have done today. Transform my small deeds into works that will last into eternity and that will help bring the nations to your throne. Amen.
