Evening Prayer: Somalia

Somalia is an Islamic society with violent groups that target Christians, especially Christians who come from a Muslim background. The country is in a state of civil war and tribal loyalties control life for individuals. Conversion to Christianity is seen as a betrayal of family or clan and often results in harassment, intimidation, and violence (sometimes death).

PRAYER: Father, we ask that you would make the believers of Somalia invisible to those who would persecute them. Let them pass by unnoticed. Let their light shine to those whom you have marked out from before the beginning of time. Soften the heart of President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed “Farmajo” toward the few hundred Christians in the land. And grant your people strength to endure. (For further prayers, look to Psalm 13.)
