Evening Prayer: Yemen

Writer: Paige McCartyPaige McCarty

Civil war in Yemen has made a difficult situation worse. Radical Islamic groups have expanded their power and reach leading to increased persecution of Christians, including kidnappings and killings. Converting from Islam to Christianity could result in the death penalty and open practice of Christianity is forbidden.

PRAYER: Father, we pray that your power would be displayed in the weakness of our brothers and sisters in Yemen. Lord, grant them a spirit like yours, humble and long-suffering. We pray for the precious few thousand of your people in Yemen, that you would provide safe places for them to gather and worship you, that they might be encouraged by the fellowship of the Spirit and of the body. Have mercy. Amen. (For further prayers, look to Psalm 89.)
