Evening prayers: Afghanistan

Afghanistan is an Islamic republic, and it is illegal to convert to Christianity from Islam. Moreover, there are strong family, clan, and tribal loyalties that become the source of persecution for any who do convert or even express interest. As militant groups like the Taliban spread, violent religious persecution rises. Despite this, reports of conversions because of dreams with Jesus continue to come out of the region.

PRAYER: Lord, we pray that you would continue to reveal yourself to those who are cut off from the true word about you, that we might hear of whole households, entire clans baptized in the name of Jesus. Even President Ashraf Ghani is not out of your reach. We pray that your Spirit would reveal to him the light of Jesus. Preserve the 300,000 of your faithful in the land, and make them salt and light. (For further prayers, look to Psalm 28.)
