Lenten Devo #6—Make Known His Deeds

Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples! (Psalm 1-5:1)

Who God is is so closely aligned with what he says and what he does that there really is little space between them. That is, God's identity is wrapped up in his actions in the world.

The mission of God's people is to tell the world about God, to tell of his mighty deeds, to speak of him and his works when we lie down and when we rise and when we walk along the way. It is to testify to his greatness—both his acts of kindness and his acts of judgment.

And, too, we are to call upon his name, to give him ample opportunity to continue to do mighty deeds among us, to give us more to talk about, more to proclaim.

So call upon his name, and look for his working in the hearts of dead men and women who do not know him. Pray for them, and watch for the dead to come to life.
