Noonday Prayer: Our Nation and the Sanctity of Life

More than 800,000 children are aborted every year, and a conservative estimate is that 85% of those abortions are elective, having nothing to do with the health of the mother or of the child. While the practice justifies itself under the auspices of healthcare, it is decidedly not a health-related issue. In fact, the “right” to an abortion is part of the broader principality and power of personal choice and individuality. But because it involves a human being other than the mother (or the father), it cannot by definition be merely personal or merely individual.

PRAYER: Father, you know every child that never saw the light of day. You know the mothers who have made the decision to abort their babies. Lord, let your mercy and grace flow on each of them. Show us the power of the life of the Spirit and free our land from this culture of death. Grant to us a newness of life and cause us to repent.
