Noonday Prayer: Our Nation & Lies, Falsehoods, & Half-Truths

Propaganda, half-truths, and whole lies have always been a part of society, and have always had corrosive effects. As the social and psychological sciences have advanced, the principalities and powers of lies and falsehoods have become more influential. The result is confusion, division, and chaos, all of which damage the peace and cohesion of our nation.

PRAYER: Father, you are the truth itself, and in you is no deceit, for you cannot tell a lie. Have mercy on us, Lord, for we twist the truth to suit our own purposes, tell half-truths to make ourselves look better, and speak outright lies to avoid blame. Lord, this spirit of falsehood prevails in our land, much as it did in the land of Israel. Would you give this nation a love for the truth, and a distaste for lies.
