Advent Devo - Day 9

Verse: Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me. (Psalm 51:5)

Meditation: The truth of our situation is that our natural state is a sinful one. We are natural-born rebels. But that doesn’t mean were beyond the reach of God’s redemption. In fact, salvation in Jesus is described as receiving a new nature, one that is defined not by our sinful thoughts, words, and deeds, but by those of Jesus.

Prayer: Father, please see this child in the light of the work of Jesus. Let the glorious, joy-filled obedience of Jesus be what you see when you look at our children. May you delight in them as you do your very own Son, remembering that He died for them. Amen.
